Pragovka Gallery vás zve na skupinovou výstavu Deep Time Walk (6. 10. – 14. 12. 2023). Zahájení proběhne ve čtvrtek 5. října od 18 hodin.

Deep Time, tedy hluboký čas, je původně geologický termín, odkazující ke změně perspektivy, která bere v úvahu stáří našeho vesmíru a jeho vývoj. Ten začal přibližně před 13,8 miliardami let. Pokud bychom si měli představit proces vzniku vesmíru v časovém průběhu jednoho roku, tedy s velkým třeskem 1. ledna, pak ke vzniku Země došlo v září, nejstarší známé horniny a zkameněliny vznikly v říjnu a lidé se objevili 31. prosince. Geologií formované myšlení – někdy se mluví i o geologickém obratu - nám pomáhá představit si nejen naši minulost, ale i vývoj v budoucnosti. Jak se odlišný čas vesmíru vztahuje k lidským záležitostem? Proměňuje náš smysl pro časové a prostorové ukotvení, umožňuje napojení na měřítko geologických sil tvarujících naši planetu.
Deep Time Walk, tedy procházka hlubokým časem, je název metody používané k prožívání hloubky historie v pohybu, pohybové prožití vědomí oné 13,8 miliard let staré historie. Také pohyb výstavou by měl navodit imaginaci hlubokého času, tedy odlišné vnímání, uvědomění si proměnlivosti geologických procesů a jejich provázanosti s naším životem. Východiskem vystavených děl jsou prožitky pohybu a reflexe krajiny, jiný způsob prožívání času pomocí technologie, napojení na čas oceánu, střet lidských a mimolidských jevů, proměnlivost hmoty. Díla mají paradoxní, zakřivené formy, poukazující k paradoxům vnímání prostoru a limitům matematické imaginace. Pracují s chvějícími se okraji, do sebe zavinutým, hlubokým časem geologie, s cestou jako návratem a prohlubujícím se poznáním. Učí se od kamenů, pohybů země a planetární soustavy, která navzdory zdání není neměnná. Víme, že galaxie se od sebe neustále vzdalují, expanze viditelného vesmíru se zrychluje, v neustálém pohybu je i vnitřek naší Země, jejíž pohyby jsou s těmi našimi úzce provázané.

Pragovka Gallery invites you to the group exhibition Deep Time Walk (6 October - 14 December 2023). The opening will take place on Thursday, 5 October at 6 pm.

Deep Time is originally a geological term, referring to a change in perspective that takes into account the age of our universe and its evolution. It began approximately 13.8 billion years ago. If we were to imagine the process of the universe's formation over the course of a year, with the Big Bang on January 1, then the Earth's formation occurred in September, the oldest known rocks and fossils formed in October, and humans appeared on December 31. Thinking shaped by geology - sometimes referred to as the geological turn - helps us imagine not only our past but also our future development. How does the different time of the universe relate to human affairs? It transforms our sense of temporal and spatial anchoring, allowing us to connect to the scale of the geological forces shaping our planet.
Deep Time Walk, or Deep Time Walk, is the name of the method used to experience the depth of history in motion, a movement experience of awareness of that 13.8 billion year old history. Moving through the exhibition should also evoke an imagination of deep time, a different perception, an awareness of the variability of geological processes and their interconnectedness with our lives. The starting point of the exhibited works is the experience of movement and reflection of the landscape, a different way of experiencing time through technology, the connection to the time of the ocean, the clash of human and non-human phenomena, the mutability of matter. The works have paradoxical, curved forms, pointing to the paradoxes of perception of space and the limits of mathematical imagination. They work with trembling edges, the wrapped-up, deep time of geology, the journey as a return and deepening knowledge. They learn from the stones, the movements of the earth and a planetary system that, despite appearances, is not immutable. We know that galaxies are constantly moving away from each other, the expansion of the visible universe is accelerating, and the interior of our earth is in constant motion, its movements intimately intertwined with our own.
